Content	Poor The main idea is not clear. There is a seemingly random collection of information.	Fair Main idea is somewhat clear, but there is a need for more supporting information.	Good Main idea is clear, but the supporting information is general.	Excelent There is one clear, well-focused topic. Main idea stands out and is supported by detailed information.
Organization	Poor Many details are not in a logical or expected order. There is little sense that the writing is organized.	Fair Some details are not in a logical or expected order, and this distracts the reader.	Good Details are placed in a logical order, but the way they are presented sometimes makes the writing less interesting.	Excelent Details are placed in a logical order and the way they are presented effectively keeps the interest of the reader.
Sentence Fluency	Poor The sentences are difficult to read aloud because they sound awkward, are distractingly repetitive, or difficult to understand.	Fair Most sentences sound natural and are easyon- the-ear when read aloud, but several are awkward or difficult to understand.	Good Almost all sentences sound natural and are easy-on-the-ear when read aloud, but 1 or 2 are awkward or difficult to understand.	Excelent All sentences sound natural and are easyon- the-ear when read aloud. Each sentence is clear and has an obvious emphasis.
Conventions	Poor Numerous errors distract the reader and make the text difficult to read.	Fair Control of most writing conventions; occasional errors do not interfere with understanding. Length	Poor Graphic novel is less then 8 panels.	Fair Graphic novel is between 8 and 12 panels.	Good Graphic novel is between 12 and 15 panels.	Excelent Graphic novel contains at least 16 panels
