Excellent

The writer has indented and has written a nice paragraph. They have a topic and closing sentence. The topic sentence clearly states the main idea. The closing sentence. restates the topic sentence and/or<BR>
wraps up the ideas in the paragraph.
Graphic Organizer

Poor

The writer did not complete a graphic organizer.
Fair

The writer only filled in 1-2 sections of the graphic organizer.
Good

The writer filled in parts of the graphic organizer but did not complete it fully.
Excellent

The writer did an excellent job filling out the graphic organizer and it is fully completed.
Transitions and Wording

The writer did not use any transition words. The paragraph is very confusing.

The writer used very little transition words in this project. The paragraph is somewhat confusing.
Good

The writer used some transition words, and this did not influence the flow of the paragraph.
Excellent

The writer used transition words throughout the paragraph. The wording of the paragraph is easy to understand.
