Listening to follow directions	Needs work Finds it difficult to understand directions and needs instructions explained two or more times.	Fair Generally understands and follows directions with some extra help occasionally.	Good Easily understands and follows directions without hesitation or confusion.
Listening for specific information	Needs work Has difficulty hearing specific information when listening and often cannot complete listening exercises.	Fair Usually hears specific information and usually completes listening exercises with only minor errors.	Good Always hears specific information when listening and consistently completes listening exercises successfully.
Asking and answering questions	Needs work Is not confident and relies on prompting and help to ask or answer questions.	Fair Is quite confident and is able to communicate information even though there may be some difficulty.	Good Confidently asks and answers questions without any difficulty.
Pronunciation and fluency	Needs work Speech is sometimes hard to understand and the student often stops and cannot finish.	Fair Speech is quite clear and can be understood. Student stops occasionally but is able to finish speaking.	Good Speech is always clear and easily understand. The student speaks without hesitation.
