Patient Education Project - Diabetes 
The students will put together a project related to educating patients about a complication of diabetes. The project will contain information that the students collected during research and will include a consideration of the health literacy needs of the patient.

-The project includes extensive information and includes all of the following key components: description of complication, prognosis of complication, treatment for complication, and key educational points for the patient.

-Project has little to no information that is relevant. Information is presented in an unorganized fashion.

-The work was done well, the project is creative and well constructed. The students stayed on task.
Good

-The work was done with good effort but minimal creativity is demonstrated. It is evident that time was put into this project and presentation.
Fair

-Work is done with fair effort, but lacks creativity. It is evident that the work was rushed and not well constructed.
Poor

-Work is done with little effort, and does not demonstrate any creativity. It is evident that the student put little to no time into the project.
Style/Mechanics

Excellent

-The project is organized and is not just a list of facts. The project is presented in a dynamic and concise manner with full understanding of the subject.
Good

-The project is clear and logical and contains facts as well as very few mistakes. Good clear presentation.
Fair

-The project has some pictures however they are not relevant to the content. -Some mistakes are made. -Little organization and clarity is used.
-There is little style and is more like a list of facts rather than a complete project.
Poor

-The project lacks neatness and clarity. Project lacks style. Information and pictures are not related to the topic.
Patient Needs Addressed

Excellent

Project effectively addresses the health literacy needs of the patient and presents information in a way the patient can best understand. Project style was the best choice for given patient.
Good

Project addresses the health literacy needs of the patient. Project style was a good choice for given patient.
Fair

Project does not effectively address the health literacy needs of the patient. Project style could have been a better choice for given patient.
Poor

Patient health literacy issues not considered.
