Poor

Student did not participate in class discussion at all. Student did not raise his/her hand, did not respond when called upon, and did not provide feedback to classmate's responses.
Fair

Student participated somewhat in class discussion but at a very minimal level.
Good

Student participated once or twice in class discussion. Student was respectful when other students were speaking and did not interrupt or criticize their peers.
Excellent

Student participated actively in class discussion and assumed an almost leadership role in facilitating interactions between peers' comments/questions. Student was attentive when his/her peers were speaking.
Poster

This section evaluates organization of ideas and following of directions.

Poor

Students did not complete the assignment or completed it poorly with many grammatical errors.
Fair

Students put forth some effort and followed directions correctly when completing the assignment; however the end result does not appear clearly thought out and organized.Contains some grammatical errors.
Good

Students completed the poster. The poster shows effort and was clearly organized. Shows some creativity and contains one or two grammatical errors.
Excellent

Students completed the poster. Poster shows clear organization, outstanding creativity and contains no grammatical errors.
Peer Interactions

This section measures how well students worked together.

Poor

Students did not work well together. Students were unable to agree on aspects of the assignment which in turn negatively affected the outcome.
Fair

Students did not disagree so much that it hindered completion of the assignment; however, students split up as many tasks as possible so as to avoid working in a group.
Good

Students worked well together. Some student ideas and viewpoints were more apparent than others.
Excellent

Students worked well together. Each student's viewpoints and ideas were equally apparent and the end result (the poster) showed a real cohesive effort.
