Less than half of remaining sentences follow proper form.	Level 3 The first sentence is indented. More than half of remaining sentences follow proper form.	Level 4 The first sentence is indented. Remaining sentences follow proper form/sentences go to the end of each line.
Communication Topic Sentence	Level 1 There is no topic sentence.	Level 2 Opening sentence does not relate to the topic of the paragraph.	Level 3 Opening sentence provides some understanding of the topic of the paragraph.	Level 4 Opening sentence clearly introduces the reader to the topic of the paragraph.
