By the end of this lesson students will be able to infer meaning from a 4th grade leveled text by combining more than one specific clue from the text with relevant background knowledge that connects with the text. This will be assessed through the students ability to use the inferring equation BK+TC=I (Background Knowledge + Text Clues = Inference).
