Instruction & Concept	Excellent The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of the concept and instruction is clearly demonstrated. The student's skills have improved. Materials, techniques and tools have been used appropriately & creatively.	Above Average The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of most of the concept and instruction is demonstrated. The student's skills have improved. Materials, techniques and tools have been used appropriately & creatively.	Average The art work is planned adequately; understanding of some of the concept and instruction demonstrated.	Below Average The artwork shows little evidence of understanding the concept and instruction.	Poor The artwork shows no evidence of understanding the concept and instruction.
Neatness/Effort	Excellent The student put forth extraordinary effort to complete the project as creatively and neatly as possible; used class time extremely well.	Above Average The student put forth the effort required to complete the project well; used class time well.	Average The student put forth the effort required to finish the project; used some class time adequately.	Below Average The student put forth little effort required to finish the project; class time was not used well.	Poor The student put forth no effort required to finish the project; student refused to complete the work.
