Attendance	0 Unexcused absence	2 Student is present but is not prepared to begin on time	3 Student is present and prepared to begin class on time
Participation	0 Refuses to participate in activities	2 Groups with randomly selected groups and interacts within the parameters of the assignment	3 Groups with randomly selected students and interacts within the parameters of the assignment, and additionally offers ways to help other group members understand the concepts being discussed
Attitude	0 Has a bad attitude toward others, makes rude comments or lashes out in class	2 Student interacts well with classmates and instructor, displays interest in content being discussed	3 Student actively particpates with classmates and instructor, displays interest in content being discussed, and is engaged in classroom environment
