Descriptive Writing Rubric 
Students will describe a picture, using it as the basis of a story. The student must create the setting (What happened before the picture?) the conflict (What is happening in the picture?) and the resolution (What happened after the picture?). Writing will be graded on capitalization, punctuation, use of main idea and supporting details, spelling of high frequency words, dialogue, plural and possessive noun use, subject/verb tense and agreement, and descriptors using 5 senses with similes.
