Behavioral Expectations 
As part of the application for placement into a Hospital Clinicals program for high school students, this RUBRIC is used to offer an objective assessment for patterns of behavior.

Poor

Often distracted and/or little eye contact during lectures, discussions, activities. Does not work diligently. Usually needs two or more reminders regarding directions or to stay on task.
Fair

Occasionally distracted. Needs occasional prompts to pay attention. Needs occasional reminders regarding a portion or all of the assignment or task.
Good

Infrequently distracted. Usually listens carefully.May need one prompt to pay attention. Needs no more than one reminder regarding an assignment or task.
Excellent

Always attentive. No prompts necessary to pay attention. Listens to directions. Works diligently.
Peer Interaction

Poor

Little to no interaction with peers and/or problems / conflicts with peers and/or classmates.
Peer interactions involve horseplay.
Fair

Positive interaction with only one or two peers and/or little interaction with classmates not considered "friends"
Good

Positive interactions with several (3-6)classmates. No conflicts with peers and/or classmates noted and/or reported.
Excellent

Consistently positive interactions noted with many peers/ classmates. No conflicts noted/ reported. Assists/ encourages peers without prompts.
Participation

Poor

Declines to participate and/or routinely complains when asked to participate and/or needs frequent prompts to remain actively involved.
Fair

Participates when prompted, but, occasionally complains.
Infrequently, makes negative comments during or regarding activities.
Good

Actively engaged in classroom discussions and activities on occasion or when prompted. Positive attitude noted during most lectures, discussions, and/or activities. No complaining.
Excellent

Routinely engages in classroom discussions and activities without prompts. Encourages others to participate.
Positive attitude noted during ALL activities.
Classroom Behavior

Poor

Often disruptive and/or engages in horseplay. Makes inappropriate comments/remarks in class. Needs frequent prompts to stay off a phone / electronic device. (>1x/wk)
Fair

Is occasionally disruptive in class. Makes few negative comments. Needs occasional prompts to put away a phone/electronic device (<1X/wk))
Good

Rarely disruptive. Makes very few negative comments.
Few prompts necessary to maintain positive classroom behavior.
No prompts to remain off of electronics.
Excellent

Never disruptive. Positive classroom behavior noted at all times. No prompts necessary to maintain good behavior. Sets a positive example for others.
Preparedness

Poor

Rarely prepared (no materials). Routinely has incomplete/no homework. Frequently unprepared for quizzes/ tests/ presentations. Does not work diligently
Fair

Occasionally comes to class without materials. Occasionally forgets an assignment. Some homework is incomplete on occasion. Not always prepared for quizzes/tests.
Good

Comes to class with materials most of the time. Usually prepared for quizzes/tests.
Excellent

Always comes to class prepared. Always has assignments, projects completed on time. Is always prepared for presentations, quizzes and tests.
