Box Welding Project Dice Welding Project This project will show the students ability to shear and weld by creating a box out of scrap metal. Rubric Code: VXX2976 By tikan22 Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Vocational Type: Project Grade Levels: 9-12

Welding Box
	Poor 5 pts	Fair 15 pts	Good 20 pts
Shearing	Poor Metal dimensions are way off and/or repeatedly wasting metal.	Fair Metal is cut a little more or less than 3 inches square and/or wasted metal once.	Good Metal is cut at 3 inches square the first time.
Dimensions & Squareness	Poor The box dimensions are way off and/or the joints of the box are not square, either greater than 100 degrees or less than 80 degrees.	Fair The box is a little more or less than 3 inches square. and/or the joints of the box are in between 95 degrees and 100 degrees, or 85 degrees and 80 degrees.	Good The box is 3 inches square and the joints of the box are 90 degrees at each joint.
Appearance	Poor The overall appearance of the box is very sloppy, no grinding has been done, or grinding is very sloppy.	Fair The overall appearance of the box is somewhat sloppy. Grinding has been done but is incomplete, or over ground.	Good The overall appearance of the box is excellent. Grinding has been done well, and looks nice.
Leak Test	Poor The box has multiple leaks.	Fair The box has 1 small leak.	Good The box does not leak when filled with water.
Safety	Poor Student did not practice any of the safety practices taught during the course.	Fair Student practiced some of the safety practices taught during the course.	Good The Student practiced all of the safety practices taught during the course
