Eyes may round or almond in shape. Pupils may appear as just a pencil dot. Iris shows in it's entirely-not cut off by outside eye shape. Eyebrows are just a line, eyelashes are two or 3 straight lines.

Eyes are shaped as almonds but no eyelids. Iris and pupil shows-usually just outlined. Eyebrows may be colored in solidly-no individual hairs.

There is an attempt to create a "real" looking face. There is an eyelid, eye brow, iris and pupil. The iris does not show completely as a circle. The nostrils are black and the side of the nose is grey or shaded.

face is small or no neck or body at all. face appears to be floating with no support. Paper may be horizontal- no thought about shape to fill page is used.

face fills the page but a tiny body or just a neck-neck may be very skinny- is attached. The neck may go off the edge of the paper and the curved line may be inclusive of the shoulders.

face is not towards top half of page-centered. Paper is vertical. Shoulders and neck are included. Lines for lower part of the body go off the edge of paper-nothing floats.

face adequately fills the top half of the paper. Paper is vertical. A neck and shoulders are present and they are proportioned well.

3 lines are made for lips. The top lip has a U shape. there is an attempt to shade the lips. A mouth at rest would begin and end where the center of the pupil is.
