Drawing Accuracy

Excellent

Student did an excellent job following the lines of symmetry. The student has everything drawn in place and all lines and shapes are right size and shape. There was ABSOLUTELY NO TRACING INVOLVED.
Good

Student did a pretty good job following the guidelines. THe drawing very much resembles the skull, but there are some items that are off a little in size, position, or shape.
Fair

Student could have benefited from spending a little more time with accuracy. The picture resembles the photo but quite a few things are off.
Poor

Student has many issues with the accuracy of drawing. Image needs much more time and consideration.
Value

Excellent

Student matched values for each hue. The artist has a very large range of values in their piece. Correctly placed and matched values within shadows. Used eraser tools to grab highlights and glares and shaded in value throughout almost the entire piece. Student has matched textures and used the blending tool or their finger to blend.
Good

Student matched almost all the values and has a semi-wide range of values in their piece. Some of the values are a little off either too dark or too light. Texture is done pretty well. Student could have benefited from a little more use of the blender stump and/or eraser stick.
Fair

Student has a limited range of values and has quite a few values shaded in, incorrectly. Texture looks rushed and pencil marks when shading are still pretty visible.
Poor

Student has a very limited range of values and isn’t correctly shading the values seen. Student rushed through this process and has very rough-scratchy texture because of shading.
Detail

Excellent

The artist has captured many of the details in this piece both in the drawing and values.
Good

The artist has captured most of the details in this piece both in drawing and values.
Fair

The artist has captured some of the details in this piece both in drawing and values.
Poor

The artist has very limited details.
Drafting

Excellent

The artist framed and used lines of symmetry in accurate positions with logical numbers. They did all of this ON THEIR OWN without any guidance. They were capable of creating a congruent frame and lines of symmetry on their drawing paper as well.
Good

Student created the frame and guidelines correctly, but may have needed some assistance or traced the frame and guidelines on drawing paper. Student could have maybe picked a more logical number and/or setup.
Fair

Student drew the frames and lines of symmetry, but they might not have matched up correct, student may have traced them, and/or needed much assistance.
Poor

Student does not have frame or lines of symmetry on BOTH pieces.
Craftsmanship

Excellent

Paper was taken care of very well. There are no rips, folds, or tears. Pencil marks and smudges are not visible.
Good

Paper was taken care of pretty well. There are very minor damages. There are very few marks and smudges still visible.
Fair

Paper wasn’t take care of pretty well. There are a decent amount of damages to it. There are pencil marks and smudges throughout the piece.
Poor

Paper is highly folded, ripped and torn. The damages have distorted the drawing. There are still marks and smudges all over the work.
