Word Self-Portrait Word Self-Portrait Students will create a self-portrait composed solely of descriptive words. Their self-portrait should contain multiple values and gradation through the use of variation in letter size and density. Likeness Does the student self-portrait create a likeness?	Below Basic The portrait does not look like the artist. The proportions are incorrect.	Basic The portrait has only some specific similarities such as eyes or hair, but otherwise is not recognizable.	Proficient The portrait presents a reasonable likeness of the artist with only minor discrepancies in proportion and composition.	Advanced The portrait presents an immediate likeness to the artist with much supporting detail.
"only words" requirement Has the student used ONLY words to construct the portrait?	Below Basic Over 50% of the portrait is composed of elements other than words such as conventional lines and shapes.
