Monthly Math Rubric Algebra students will follow directions given for monthly math problem sets as described below. The score on this rubric (out of 50 points) will be doubled in the grade book. Monthly Math Project
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 4 pts	Good 7 pts	Outstanding 10 pts
1. Punctuality	Poor Monthly Math was submitted more than two days late or not at all.	Fair Monthly Math was submitted two days late.	Good Monthly Math was submitted one day late.	Outstanding Monthly Math was submitted on time - the last day of the month.
2. Location of the answer	Poor The answers were not provided (see #1)	Fair The answers were not written under the problems, or were not on the front of the sheet.	Good Some of the answers were not written under the problems, but all answers were written on the front of the sheet.	Outstanding All answers were clearly written under the problems and all answers were written on the front of the sheet.
3. Thinking process & calculations	Poor The thinking process was not provided on the back of the sheet, or was not included at all.	Fair The thinking process and calculations of more than 5 of the problems were not written on the back of the sheet.	Good The thinking process and calculations of 1 to 5 problems were not written on the back of the sheet.	Outstanding The thinking process of all problems were neatly written on the back of the sheet.
4. Answers to problems	Poor There were no answers to the problems.	Fair The answers to more than 5 of the problems are incorrect, and lack of thinking processes make it difficult to determine student understanding.	Good The answers to 1 - 5 of the problems are incorrect, or may lack clear thinking processes making it difficult to determine student understanding.	Outstanding All answers are correct, and thinking processes are easy to follow.
5. Student work: clear, & thorough	Poor There is no work, or work is very difficult to read, and disorganized.	Fair The work is somewhat readable, however difficult to follow.	Good For the most part, student work and explanations are clear and easy to follow.	Outstanding Student work is exemplary, neat, and easy to follow.
