Creativity	Level 4 Demonstrates exciting, original, and complex ideas. Experimentation and problem solving are evident.	Level 3 Use of new ideas and creative problem solving. Work is original.	Level 2 Work is adequate but lacks originality.	Level 1 Minimal creative thought or student originated ideas.
Construction	Level 4 Tangrams had no spaces or gaps throughout. All tangram pieces attached neatly and firmly.	Level 3 Tangrams have minimal gapping and/or spacing. Most tangram pieces are attached firmly and neatly.	Level 2 Several gaps and spaces are evident in tangram. Quite a few tangram pieces are not attached firmly and neatly.	Level 1 Numerous gaps and spaces exist in tangram. Most pieces are not attached firmly and neatly.
Fictional writing	Level 4 Student's fictional story includes all the story elements.	Level 3 Student 's fictional story includes at least four of the story elements.	Level 2 Student's fictional story includes less than 3 story elements.	Level 1 The fictional story does not make sense.
