All plot elements are accurate to the original play and presented in a manner that is easy to follow.

A few plot elements are accurate to the original play. The performance strays from the original plot.

The performance plot does not follow the original plot. The audience is left with no sense of what the play really is about

The actor "stays in the scene" from beginning to and and uses their body and voices in a way that can be seen and heard and understood. Student never breaks out of character.
Good - 3
The actor "stays in the scene" most of the time. Student breaks out of character but recovers and is not a distraction.
Fair - 2
The actor "stays in the scene" some of the time. Student breaks out of character only to distraction once.
Poor - 1
The actor is unable to "stay in the scene" and breaks out of character too many times.

Students' interpretation of the lines are accurate. Correct usage of stress, inflection, and connotation.
Good - 3
Students' interpretation of the lines are almost completely accurate. Nearly entirely correct usage of stress, inflection, and connotation.
Fair - 2
Students' interpretation of about half of the lines are accurate. About half correct usage of stress, inflection, and connotation.
Poor - 1
There is a big error in the students' interpretation of the lines. Either students use no stress, inflection, or connotation, or it is consistently used incorrectly.
