Well planned and thought out coordinate system that uses a set of numbered or lettered horizontal and vertical lines that allow the viewer to describe a single point (within reason) on the map. An accurate scale is used.

Clear and good understandable coordinate system with proper labeling. An accurate scale is used.

An attempt is made to make a coordinate system, however, the system is hard to understand. Inaccurate use of the scale.
