Daily Work in Class & Participation
Poor
Student sits in class and does not get out sewing project. Makes no attempt to work on project. Wastes time every day and shows little to no progress on project.
Fair
Student works on project most of the class period. May ask to work on a different class or complete homework for another class for a few minutes. Quits work a little early because the project is at a good stopping spot for the day. Uses remaining class time effectively. Progress on project is moderate.
Good
Student gets project out at the beginning of class and works the entire period on the project, bell to bell. Progress on project is evident every day. Manages class time very effectively
Directions
Poor
Student does not follow directions and ignores skills demonstrated during class instruction. Requires signifigant amount of teacher time one on one to explain directions.
Fair
Student pays close attention to directions and practices skills demonstrated in class instruction. Attempts to follow written directions. Requires some one on one teacher time to explain directions.
Good
Student pays very close attention to directions and carefully practices skills as demonstrated in class. Reads and follows written directions with little input from the teacher.
Workmanship
Poor
Work done is poorly executed and incomplete. Loose stitching, poor measurements, inconsistent seams. Bag is not going to last.
Fair
Bag is done in a manner that exhibits good workmanship most of the time. Some mistakes are evident, seams are not all consistent, stitching may be loose in spots.
Good
Excellent workmanship is evident. Bag has consistent seams, few mistakes, tight stitches. Measurements are accurate. Bag is well constructed.
