Guitar Playing Test
	Exceeds Standards 4 pts	Meets Standards 3 pts	Partially Meets Standards - 2 2 pts	Does Not Meet Standards - 1 1 pts
Finger Placement	Exceeds Standards Fingers are placed accurately, with appropriate arch and weight, left thumb is not visible. Student does not need to watch where fingers are. Clear, beautiful tone.	Meets Standards Fingers are placed accurately, with correctly arched hand position. All notes "speak" clearly. Student may need to glance occasionally to make sure of finger placement. Clear tone.	Partially Meets Standards - 2 Fingers sometimes incorrectly placed or arched position is lost. Left thumb reaches over the neck. Needs to watch hand placement frequently. Tone compromised.	Does Not Meet Standards - 1 Finger placement incorrect and with poor hand position. Tone unclear.
Rhythm	Exceeds Standards Can maintain steady rhythm throughout performance, complete with necessary accents and articulations.	Meets Standards Generally can maintain steady rhythm at tempo. Sometimes uses accents and articulations.	Partially Meets Standards - 2 Generally cannot maintain steady rhythm at tempo. No sense of accent or articulations.	Does Not Meet Standards - 1 Cannot maintain steady rhythm.
Tuning	Exceeds Standards Correctly tuned by choice of method.	Meets Standards 1-2 strings slightly off-tune	Partially Meets Standards - 2 Poorly tuned.	Does Not Meet Standards - 1 Does not understand or hear tuning.
Assignment	Exceeds Standards Completed assignment and beyond.	Meets Standards Completed as assigned.	Partially Meets Standards - 2 Partially completed assignment.	Does Not Meet Standards - 1 Did not do assignment.
