Story Development	Poor Characters are quickly mentioned, providing very little, if any development.	Fair The plot, setting, and characters are apparant; however, they are not fully developed.	Good The plot, setting, and characters are developed fully and organized well. The who, what, where, when, and why are explained using interesting language and sufficient detail.
Literary Items	Poor Metaphor, simile, personification, foreshadowing, and flashbacks are not used in the story.	Fair Metaphor, simile, personification, foreshadowing, and flashbacks are apparant; however, are not used appropriately. There is not much fluency between the literary elements and the story.	Good Metaphor, simile, personification, foreshadowing, and flashbacks are apparant in the story and used appropriately and do not interrupt the flow of the story.
Grammer and Spelling	Poor A numerous amount of spelling and grammer mistakes occur throughout the story.	Fair Appropriate grammer and spelling are used but with mistakes apparant.	Good Appropriate grammer and spelling is used with little or no mistakes.
