VA 2.4	FANTASTIC Artwork shows a deep understanding of the significance behind observed scenes of daily life. Value changes are used exceptionally to bring out meaning in the work.	GOOD STUFF Artwork is clearly based upon intelligent observation of daily life, Value change is key component.	NOT SURE Artwork is based on observation but could have had more thought put in. Value change is not used for purpose and seems out of place.	WHAT? Observation seems lacking, artwork needs a lot of improvement, no value change is used.
VA 3.3	FANTASTIC Student can not only distinguish between representational, abstract, and nonrepresentational art, but understands why each art form is used and how culture influenced the style.	GOOD STUFF Student can clearly distinguish representational, abstract, or nonrepresentational artworks, and can articulate what the determining factors are.	NOT SURE Student can sometimes distinguish representational, abstract, and nonrepresentational artworks, but doesn't fully grasp why.	WHAT? Student has trouble with distinguished the style of art, mostly just guessing.
VA 5.2	FANTASTIC The student writes a poem that is integrally tied to the artwork, capturing the meaning, emotion, and expression found in the art.	GOOD STUFF Student writes a well written piece of poetry inspired by their artwork that captures the meaning of the piece clearly and concisely.	NOT SURE Student writes a piece of poetry that loosely connects to their art, but mostly on a surface level.	WHAT? It is almost impossible to see a correlation between the poetry and the art.
Attitude and Effort	FANTASTIC The student is excited to do the project and goes above and beyond the assignment, creating further connections for themselves.	GOOD STUFF The student has a positive attitude toward the project and puts in quality effort.	NOT SURE The student does the work but seems disinterested and puts in just enough effort to slide by.	WHAT? The student is unfocussed and disruptive, and puts in very little time and effort.
