Helen Essay Analysis 
Using evidence from the text students will compare and contrast the subject, diction, imagery, figurative language, and tone of both poems. Students will also analyze how meaning of words and phrases are used in the text to impact word choice and tone. Students should cite textual evidence to support your interpretation in two or three paragraphs. In this essay, you will you analyze the poet's use of literary elements (parts of the poem and figures of speech) and use this analysis to interpret the style of the author. In other words, what is a good description of the poet's style and what are two elements that are used similarly in the poetry that help to contribute to that style?
