Taps each sound

Students will tap each sound correctly, including the special sounds (digraphs and welded sounds)

Good

The student taps out each letter or sound correctly - digraphs as one tap and welded sounds as one tap.
Fair

The student taps out each sound but may have one sound incorrect. The student identifies and taps out digraphs and welded sounds correctly.
Okay

The student taps out the word with more than 2 mistakes. May not be able to tap digraphs or welded sounds correctly.
Needs Improvement

The student is unable to tap the sounds correctly and cannot tap digraphs or welded sounds correctly.
Identifies the word

The student will be able to pull the sounds together to identify the word.

Good

After tapping out the sounds, the student is able to pull the sounds together to identify the word correctly.
Fair

After tapping out the sounds, the student is able to pull the sounds together to identify the word almost correctly. May have mis-tapped a vowel sound.
Okay

After tapping out the sounds, the student says a completely different word, but may have some of the correct sounds.
Needs Improvement

After tapping out the sounds, the student is not able to identify a word, or none of the sounds tapped are present in the word.
Courteous

The student is courteous to others while they are tapping.

Good

The student patiently waits for other students to tap and using only positive language when a student has difficulty.
Fair

The student is trying to wait patiently but needs at most 2 reminders. The student uses only positive language.
Okay

The student is either not waiting patiently or not using postive language with peers. (ie - making fun of peers or making sounds.)
Needs Improvement

The student is not able to wait patiently and is not using positive language with peers.
