Forehand	Below Basic Uses improper grip, can meet object in center of racket.	Basic Meets object from coming over net. Can redirect ball to target. Uses proper body pivot. Able to self-volley up and down 10 times.	Proficient Moves to meet the ball after the bounce. Able to rally over the net 10 times with a partner. Meets ball with racket head up. Controls the forehand wall volley three times.	Advanced Moves to cover a wide shot. Chooses correctly between a volley and a full stroke. Able to control depth or vary speed. Backswing and follow-through are complete.
Backhand	Below Basic No effort, changes grip, can meet object in center of racket.	Basic Meets and object coming from over the net. Able to redirect a ball to a target . Uses proper body pivot. Able to self-volley up or down 10 times.	Proficient Moves to meet a ball after the bounce. Able to rally over the net 10 times with a partner. Meets a ball with the racket head up. Controls the backhad wall volley three times.	Advanced Moves easily to cover the back hand side. Is equally proficient with a volley and a full stroke. Able to control depth. Able to vary speed. *Backswing and follow-through are complete.
Serve	Below Basic Uses improper correct grip. Gets ball over the net from a self-toss.	Basic Occasionally able to put a ball in play. Able to direct the ball on the diagonal.	Proficient Consistnetly able to direct the ball diagonally. Serves reach the service box more often than not.	Advanced Is consistent. Is starting to carry speed or depth *Shows sign of strategic placement.
