Illustrations	Poor The illustrations do not tell a story or tell a story unrelated to the novel.	Fair Visuals are somewhat confusing (unable to clearly tell what scene is portrayed or what happens in the scene).	Good The visuals tell part of the story, but leave out details necessary to scene (think about those bulleted list summaries!).	Excellent The visuals tell the story very well (scene action is clear).
Speech Bubbles	Poor Characters did not used any dialogue.	Fair Characters used only 1 line from the text or used the lines ineffectively (did not relate story).	Good Characters used 2-3 lines from the original text to relate important parts of the scene.	Excellent Characters used 4-5 lines from the original text to relate important parts of the scene.
Length	Poor The student uses 0-3 frames.	Fair The student uses 4-5 frames.	Good The student uses 6-8 frames.	Excellent The story is told in 9 frames or more.
