	Fair 4 pts	Good 6 pts	Excellent 8 pts
Grid/Proportions	Fair It is evident that the skull was not rendered correctly and the proportions are not similar to the reference photo.	Good It is somewhat evident the student relied on direct observation, and didn't always follow the grid lines.	Excellent All of the objects are proportionally correct in reference to each other. It is evident that the student rendered the drawing by carefully studying the reference photo.
Shading/Value	Fair Few parts of the drawing are shaded and most of the shading does not reflect the actual contours of the objects.	Good The drawing is lacking a lot of values, more shading and detail could have been added to the final drawing.	Excellent There is a varied value of darks, highlights, and mid tones. Student used shading to create edges and lines. Value contributes the the realistic qualities of the drawing.
Craftsmanship	Fair The amount of stray marks, smudges, or paper imperfections detracts from the overall appearance of the drawing.	Good A few stray marks or smudges are evident but do not greatly distract from the overall appearance of the drawing.	Excellent Presentation of the work is done at a high level of detail and neatness.
Background	Fair The background was either not shaded in or not an even value. The grid is still showing in some ares.	Good The background shows multiple different values and textures. Some pencils lines show through the shading.	Excellent The background was shaded a solid value of grey (light, medium, dark). The background is even and smooth making the skull more three dimensional.
Time	Fair Did not use class time to their advantage.	Good Used some of the class time well. Somewhat off task, not always working on the drawing.	Excellent Focused and used time well.
