Research Paper and Presentation Research Paper and Presentation RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES The research paper is to be 5-10 pages, double-spaced and must cite all sources. Students may do an oral presentation or other product instead of a research paper, and will be graded on clear verbal and visual communication of the research and findings. For other research products besides research papers and oral presentations, meet with Mr. Crook to come up with a rubric together. Research Resources and works cited	Poor No observable research completed. No academic sources used and/or cited.	Fair Some identifiable use of information from the research in the presentation. Less than three sources used to support research topic and information; all sources made with basic web research.	Good Identifiable use of information from the research in the presentation. Three sources used to validate topic and information.	Excellent Strong adherence to the guidelines. Use of more than three sources to substantiate the topic.
Information Analysis and Grammar	Poor No explanation of the information. More than 10 grammatical errors. Unable to answer any questions in regards to topic.	Fair Unclear explanation of the information. Between 5 and 10 grammatical errors. Able to answer some questions in regards to topic.	Good Cursory understanding and explanation of information. Fewer than 5 grammatical errors. Able to answer most questions about topic.	Excellent Well-informed explanation of information. No more than one grammatical error. Clearly answered questions about topic Shows clear understanding of disease process and therapeutic treatment(s).
