IDEAS	Poor The report does not have a clear focus. There is no topic sentence and/or supporting ideas. There are few researched facts.	Good The report is fairly well researched. The topic sentence and/or supporting ideas are not clear. Some facts or need a little more detail.	Excellent The report is factual and well researched. There is a topic sentence and 3 supporting ideas that are required. It includes many interesting and well research facts.
ORGANIZATION	Poor Ideas, details, and facts are disorganized, unclear, or just listed & not followed by evidence or supporting sentences. Topic sentence and/or conclusion are missing.	Good There are paragraphs but they are not well organized. Some ideas are not followed by evidence or supporting sentences topic sentences are clear.	Excellent Main ideas are stated in topic sentences. Facts, examples, and details are organized in paragraphs creating a good flow. Conclusion paragraph ends on good note.
VOICE/WORD CHOICE	Poor Many sentences are copied from a source instead of being the author's own words. Word choice is repetitive and overused.	Good The author mostly used his or her own words. There are good word choices with few repetitions. It would help to use more descriptive vocabulary.
