Making small talk

Difficult

It's hard for me to do small talk, I feel it's uncomfortable. Most of the time I don't know what to say to keep the conversation going. I don't see the point in answering much when someone tries to have small talk with me.
Manageable

I manage to have short conversations about trivial topics with my classmates. Sometimes it's hard for me to keep the conversation going for long. I can keep up if someone else tries to have small talk with me.
Easy

I feel super comfortable making small talk with my classmates. I use tag (confirmation) questions and mention topics like weather, books, plans for the weekend, etc. I can also respond when someone else starts small talk with me.
Polite rejoinders

Difficult

I'm not used to use polite expressions to start, extend or end a conversation. I don't really see the point to it
Manageable

I sometimes use polite expressions to start, extend or end a conversation. I only know a few of them, but I can manage myself with those.
Easy

I frequently use polite expressions to start, extend, or end a conversation. I know lots of them and they come in handy when I want to show I enjoy the conversation.
