Application of Strategies
LEVEL 1
Confines focus on sending and receiving the speeder. Movements are inconsistent with basic strategic play
LEVEL 2
Uses some skills appropriately, but shows little evidence of variation in shot placement and defensive positioning.
LEVEL 3
Uses variation in shot selection and placement, but is hesitant or indecisive. May be inconsistent returning to appropriate court position.
LEVEL 4
Consistently applies effective offensive/defensive strategy without hesitation.
Application of Rules
LEVEL 1
Consistently demonstrates incorrect applications of rules, conventions, terminology, and or scoring. Relies on direction of others to play correctly.
LEVEL 2
Demonstrates a general understanding of the game, but needs assistance from others to correctly apply rules, conventions, terminology or scoring
LEVEL 3
Applies major rules, conventions of play and terminology correctly, occasionally seeks confirmation from others. Announces score before serving.
LEVEL 4
Applies rules, conventions of play and terminology without hesitation or observable rules. Announces score correctly before serving.
Sportsmanship
LEVEL 1
Student needs daily reminders of good sportsmanship. Constantly argumentative and struggles playing with partner in a cooperative manner
LEVEL 2
Student needs occasional reminders to demonstrate correct behavior and good sportsmanship during game play
LEVEL 3
Student demonstrates correct behavior and applies sportsmanship during games towards partner and opponents most of the time.
LEVEL 4
Student demonstrates correct behavior and overall good sportsmanship toward teammates and opponents throughout an entire match.
