Usually maintains a positive attitude throughout rehearsal and demonstrates good rehearsal discipline and technique. Usually shows respect toward staff members and fellow students. Is on time to rehearsals 95% of the time and is prepared with materials. (Music and instrument)

Always maintains a positive attitude throughout rehearsal and demonstrates good rehearsal discipline and technique. Always show respect toward staff members and fellow students. Is on time to 95-100% of rehearsals of practices and prepared with all materials. (music, instrument etc.)
Marching Visuals

Poor

Student demonstrates poor posture, inconsistent step offs and poor foot placement. There are major flaws in form-diagonals and curves are unrecognizable with no desire to fix. Timing is off in holds and spacing.
Fair

Student shows average posture with some lapses. Student show adequate foot placement but there are inconsistencies. Recovery from error is slow. Shows adequate forms with sometimes inconsistent and lack visual precision. Students have adequate timing in halts and step offs but there are still some major errors.
Good

Shows above average posture with minor lapses. Shows above average step sizes and placement with some small errors. There are good forms with some flaws. Students shows excellent timing, spacing, and halts with some minor flaws.
Excellent

Student shows a high degree of uniformity of posture and body carriage. Student shows effective foot placement, a high level of consistency in foot step and a quick recovery from errors. Forms are Superior with minor lapses. Students shows a high level of achievement of timing, spacing and halts.
Musicianship

Poor

Undesirable characteristic tone is displayed. Little or no awareness of individual and ensemble tuning and intonation. Plays with no attention to dynamic contrast and does not achieve correct blend and balance in the ensemble.
Fair

Student demonstrates average characteristic tone for their instrument with some instances of poor tone. Shows average awareness of individual tuning and ensemble balance and blend but there are some flaws.
Good

The student shows above average characteristic tone. with minor lapses. Students demonstrates good awareness of tuning and tone within the ensemble and as an individual. Exhibits above average control of all aspects of rhythm, tempo and musical styles with minor lapses.
Excellent

Student has a highly developed Characteristic tone. Student demonstrates an elevated awareness of tuning tendencies in the ensemble and as an individual. Student has a highly developed concept of balance and blend within their section and throughout the ensemble.
