tempo	Emerging There was a lack of steady tempo during the performance.	Basic The performance had many tempo problems, but students were occassionally together in regards to the tempo.	Proficient The performance contained a steady tempo throughout most of the piece.	Advanced The performance contained a steady tempo throughout the entire piece.
Rhythm	Emerging The student plays with less than 95% rhythmic accuracy or is constantly rushing or dragging.	Basic The student plays with 95% rhythmic accuracy, keeps good rhythmic integrity most of the time.	Proficient The student plays with 98% rhythmic accuracy, keeps good rhythmic integrity, displays proper subdivision and puts weight on the proper weight in the correct parts of the beats.	Advanced The student plays with 100% rhythmic accuracy, keeps good rhythmic integrity, displays proper subdivision and puts weight on the proper weight in the correct parts of the beats.
Balance	Emerging The student doesn't play in time with surrounding musicians or match dynamic levels	Basic The student plays in time with surrounding musicians, and matches dynamic levels.<BR> (only 1 is observed on occassion)	Proficient The student plays in time with surrounding musicians, and matches dynamic levels.<BR> (only 2 are observed on occassion)	Advanced The student plays in time with surrounding musicians, and matches dynamic levels. <BR> (Both are observed at all times)
