Style and word choice

A

Narrative uses well-placed, clear and interesting imagery and/or dialogue to capture the reader's attention. Diction is vivid and highly effective.
B

Narrative uses some effective imagery or dialogue, but parts are weak. Most of the diction is vivid and effective, but some parts could be improved on.
C

Narrative contains imagery and dialogue, but it is ineffective. Diction is not vivid.
D

Narrative contains little to no imagery or dialogue. Diction is confusing, vague, or dull.
