When writing your one paragraph short answer for the exam, this is what your answer will be graded on. Short answer paragraphs are worth ten points each for a total of 50 points.

Question was addressed but not answered sufficiently. Sentences were short with no elaboration. Provided general statements in lieu of details, if any.
Above Average (B)

Question was addressed and answered sufficiently, as a general matter, with complete sentences and provided some elaboration. Provided a few general details but have elaborated could have further on specific issues in several places.
Excellent (A)

Question was answered correctly with details, such as names, dates, events and people. Sentences provided full details and explanations. Described places, events, and people; provided historical background; demonstrated both breadth and depth of subject/topic
