Rhetorical Device
You are to research the assigned rhetorical terms in action list and complete a rhetorical device analysis on each of the given terms. The assignment must be completed in powerpoint format. Use the Rhetorical Terms in Action worksheet to assist in organization and content. Each slide must provide explanations and examples for a rhetorical device and present it in a manner that is bother literary and visual.

Student shows some evidence of analysis but lacks in the area of critical thinking. Focus is more on the explanation.
Exceeds Expectations
Student shows evidence of thorough analysis and critical thinking by connecting the device to how it enhances the meaning of the text.
GUM (Grammar, Usage and Mechanics
Needs Improvement
The student's spelling and writing mechanics may be a problem or lack total control. Presentation of their work is sloppy or at times, unreadable. MLA format is not present. Quotations are not cited at all.
Meets Expectations
The student had a few errors in grammar, usage, or mechanics. Informal sentence structure and diction may be evident. May not be formtted to all aspects of MLA, missing either in-text citation or works cited information.
Exceeds Expectations
The student had few to no errors in grammar, usage, or mechanics. Effective diction was also used. MLA format was used correctly, and all quotes were cited, with works cited infomation included.
PowerPoint/MLA
Needs Improvement
The student's PowerPoint presentation lacks the order of the assignment list, the examples, the explanations, and/or does not follow basic MLA guidelines for PoerPoints as per the examples on Purdue's Online Writing Laboratory
