The report is factual and well researched. It is focused on topic (main idea) and the subtopics that are required. It includes many interesting and well researched facts. Facts, examples, and details are organized in paragraphs creating a good flow.
Good
The report is well researched. Some facts or examples needed a little more detail. Overall, ideas were good. Paragraphs are well organized. Topic sentences help to separate and organize.
Fair
The report may not be clearly focused on a single topic. Many additional details are needed to back up facts and examples. Some ideas seem unclear. Facts and details are not well organized into paragraphs. There are few topic sentences.
Poor
The report does not have a clear focus. The paper shows little research. Ideas seem to be pulled out of the air. Ideas and facts are disorganized, unclear, or just listed.
Topic sentences and conclusions are missing.
GRAMMAR/SPELLING
Excellent
There are almost no errors in grammar, capitalization, spelling or usage. There are a variety of sentences.
There was a smooth flow throughout.

There are a few mistakes, but they do not affect understanding. The essay would benefit from greater sentence variety. The flow was choppy in areas.

Presentation Board/Props
Excellent
Wow!! The student spent a lot of time making their presentation look very professional. The props were awesome and gave us more insight to the person's life.
Good
Had a nice set up of props related to the person's life. Presentation board is colorful and informative. Explanations of each piece of information.
Fair
The presentation shows some effort. Some unrelated props were used. Pictures on board do not have explanations. Can still see some of the white from the board.
Poor
The final copy is messy. Less than 3 facts are shown on the board. A lot of white showing on the board. Does not appear that a lot of time or effort were spent on decorating. No extra props were displayed.
PRESENTATION
Excellent
Student was dressed in appropriate costume for their character and used appropriate props. Student had script memorized and maintained eye contact during presentation. Student used voice variations to engage audience.
Good
Student was dressed appropriately in costume. Student used script very little and used some eye contact during the presentation. Student attempted to use voice variations to engage audience.
Fair
Student was dressed with minimal attention to character detail. Student read from the script and used minimal eye contact during the presentation. There were few attempts to use voice variations during presentation.
Poor
Student did not have costume appropriate to character. Student read from script with difficulty and had no eye contact with the audience. There were no attempts to use voice variations and presentation was monotone.
Timeline
Excellent
Timeline has 8 or more major events from character's life.
It is apparent the student took a lot of time to make the timeline look pleasing to the eye. It is easy to follow the information.
Good
Timeline has 7 major events from character's life. Some time was taken on making the timeline look neat and organized.
Fair
Timeline has 5 - 6 major events from character's life. The timeline is somewhat hard to read. Some important parts of the person's left are missing.
Poor
Timeline has 4 or less major events from the character's life. The timeline is sloppy and hard to follow.
