Success of invention How well it works. Problem-solving.	Excellent The invention works all the time, with little or no "help".	Good The invention works most of the time. It may need a little help, but it performs the task.	Fair Mostly, the invention does not work on its own, or successful performance is limited.	Poor The invention does NOT work.
Creativity	Excellent Highly creative -unlike any other tool.	Good Creative - may be similar to another tool	Fair Somewhat creative, but may combine or use already created tools to make a new tool.	Poor Not creative - copies a tool already invented.
Usefulness	Excellent The invention is unique, very useful and should be patented. We've been needing this!	Good The invention is useful.	Fair The invention is somewhat useful, but not necessary.	Poor The invention is not useful.
