The student demonstrates full knowledge of the content (more than required). All elements of the project are included. The student has written an informative essay including historical events pertaining to the chosen explorer.
Presentation

The student has produced clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to the task, purpose, and audience. The work is neat and display a high level of creativity.
Spelling/Grammar

The project has no spelling and/or grammatical errors. All information is written in complete sentences.
Effort

The student's project shows an effort beyond the requirements of the project.
Illustrations

The project includes five or more photos, illustrations, or diagrams.

Content Knowledge

The student is at ease with the content, but fails to elaborate. All elements of the project are included.
Presentation

The student's writing is appropriate to the task, purpose and audience. However, the development should be more clear and organized. The project may have one area that is sloppy; shows a satisfactory level of creativity.

The project has three or four spelling and/or grammatical errors. All information is written in complete sentences.

The student completed all elements of the project, but did not go beyond the basic requirements.

The project includes four photos, illustrations, or diagrams.
