Ink and Watercolor Landscape Monochromatic Collage Students will create a watercolor landscape and make trees by blowing wet waterproof ink with a straw. Rubric Code: U55B3B By pamela72 Draft Public Rubric Subject: Arts and Design Type: Project Grade Levels: 6-8

Ink/Watercolor Landscape

Trees	2 Student used the waterproof ink to create at least 5 trees in their landscape. The trees have a trunk as well as branches.	1 Student made 2 or less tress with the ink or trees do not appear to have branches.	0 No trees were created.
Horizon Line	2 Student understood what the horizon line is and painted it correctly in the landscape. (No "white strip" in between the land and the sky.)	1 Student attempted to make a horizon line but it is not clear in the landscape.	0 Student did not understand what the horizon line is and did not include one in the painting.
Moon	2 Student used the quarter/tissue technique to create a visible moon in the landscape.	1 Student attempted to add the moon but it is difficult to see.	0 No moon was made.
Sky (Salt Technique)	2 Student used applied salt to the sky to add texture.	1 Student added too much salt (salt is stuck to the paper) or did not apply enough salt/apply salt when paint was wet and therefore no texture is visible in the paint.	0 No salt was added.
Leaves (Dry Brush)	2 Student added leaves to the trees using the dry brush technique.	1 Leaves look too "wet". Student had too much water on the brush when doing this technique.	0 No leaves were added.
