Stop-Motion Video Rubric
	Unacceptable 1 pts	Mediocre 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts
Movement Characters and other objects	Unacceptable No movement or movements are totally non-realistic. Background and props are static with no movement.	Mediocre Movements are jerky, but for the most part look like live action. Some background and prop movement.	Proficient Movements mimic life like movements. There is also movement with props and background pieces.
Balance Balanced "picture"	Unacceptable Shots are off balanced. Too much head room or leg room. The shots are not uniform.	Mediocre Some shots are out of balance.	Proficient Video shots are balanced. The characters are centered or balanced with other pieces in the scene.
Script Plot Structure and character development	Unacceptable Script doesn't contain a beginning, middle, or an end. There is not conflict and/or solution. The entire script doesn't make sense. The characters are not defined.	Mediocre There are some flaws in plot structure.	Proficient There is a definite beginning, middle, and end. There is conflict and a resolution. The characters are well-defined and the entire script makes sense.
Editing Edits, transitions, title and credits page	Unacceptable The edits are sloppy and don't make sense in light of the script. There are no transitions. The title page and credits page are absent.	Mediocre Some of the edits are choppy or there is a missing/poor transition.	Proficient Edits are smooth and the transitions are well-timed. The title page and credits page are present. The edits do not take away from the story.
DVD creation	Unacceptable Video was not transferred to a DVD format.	Mediocre There are some issues with the transfer but the video is on a DVD.	Proficient Video was successfully transferred to DVD format.
