Identify rules of the Game Lists the rules pertaining to basic offensive/defensive strategy and game play.	Beginner Student rarely able to list the rules or identify basic game concepts.	Novice Student describes the basic, most fundamental rules of the game consistently.	Intermediate Student identifies rules and is able to apply or describe rules during game play with few observable errors.	Advanced Student lists the rules with no observable errors and identifies inconsistencies, errors, or penalties during a game.
Demonstrate offensive pass routes Describes and shows fundamental pass routes as an observer and participant.	Beginner Student rarely able to complete or describe pass routes.	Novice Student consistently identifies and completes basic pass routes.	Intermediate Student shows few observable errors when listing or demonstrating various types of routes.	Advanced Student describes and completes pass routes with no observable errors.
Overhand passing to partner Demonstrates correct overhand throwing technique to complete passes to a partner.	Beginner Student rarely uses fundamental throwing technique and inconsistently completes throws to a partner.	Novice Student displays consistent throwing technique and usually completes passes to a partner.	Intermediate Student shows few observable errors in throwing technique and passes consistently complete to partner.	Advanced Student completes passes to parnter and uses fundamental throwing technique with no observable errors.
Catching Utilizes fundamental technique to catch a ball thrown by a partner.	Beginner Student rarely uses technique to catch passes and displays little effort to catch passes while either stationary or moving.	Novice Student performs consistently and uses basic technique to catch passes.	Intermediate Student catches passes from partner with few observable errors in basic pass catching technique.	Advanced Student combines catching with movement and shows no observable errors.
Identify off./def. positions Lists and recognizes offensive and defensive positions.	Beginner Student rarely identifies offensive and defensive positions.	Novice Student consistently recognizes offensive and defensive postions.	Intermediate Student lists positions on both offense and defense with few observable errors.	Advanced Student constructs offensive and defensive sets while listing positions with no observable errors.
