Student was not understood by the audience because the student sped through their lines.
Getting into character

Student used gestures, voice fluctuations, and facial expressions to enhance meaning of the part played. Student made others believe that he/she really was the character.

Student used some gestures, voice fluctuations, and facial expressions to enhance meaning of the part played. Student worked toward getting into character.

Student tried a few gestures, voice fluctuations, and facial expressions. Student did not make the audience believe that they really were the character.

Student did not use gestures, voice fluctuations, or facial expressions.
