Historical Events Time Line for a Musical Period The student will demonstrate an understanding of 2 historical events during a specific musical period. A brief paragraph must be written for each event, to be displayed on a time line created by the student's group. On the time line each year will be represented by 1/4 of an inch. Historical Events
	Poor 0 pts	Fair 1 pts	Good 2 pts	Excellent 3 pts
2 Unique Events	Poor The student does not choose any world events.	Fair The student chooses world events which are not unique.	Good The student chooses one unique world event. However, the other event is missing or represented by another student.	Excellent The student chooses two unique world events, not represented by any other student.
Sources	Poor The student does not use any sources.	Fair The student uses only 1 source, OR sources are incorrectly sited at the bottom of the paragraph.	Good The student uses at least 2 sources and correctly sites them at the bottom of his/her paragraph. However they are from the same type of source.	Excellent The student uses at least 2 different types of sources (i.e. - book, article, internet, etc.) and correctly sites them at the bottom of his/her paragraph.
Paragraph	Poor The student has a numerous grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors in her/his paragraph, and/or provides an unintelligible description of the event for the reader.	Fair The student has a several grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors in her/his paragraph, and/or provides a cloudy description of the event for the reader.	Good The student has a few grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors in her/his paragraph, and provides a clear description of the event for the reader.	Excellent The student uses correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation in her/his paragraph, and provides a clear description of the event for the reader.
