Descriptive Paragraph Each student will write a descriptive paragraph about a mentor/person who has had an important influence in their life. The assignment has three parts to be completed: graphic organizer, rough draft and final typed paragraph. Descriptive Paragraph
	Unsatisfactory 1 pts	Satisfactory 7 pts	Good 10 pts
Paragraph components	Unsatisfactory Paragraph is missing two or more of the following: TS, 3 CD'S, 2 CM'S and/or CS.	Satisfactory Paragraph is missing one of the following: TS, 3 CD'S, 2 CM'S, and/or CS.	Good Paragraph contains all of the following: TS,3 CD's, 2 CM's, and CS.
Supportive comments	Unsatisfactory No commentary given; therefore, no support or explanation for concrete detail.	Satisfactory Paragraph contains required commentary; however, it is incomplete, irrelevant, or non-supportive of concrete detail.	Good Paragraph contains: Two or more commentaries that completely explain or give examples that support the concrete details.
Mechanics	Unsatisfactory Paragraph contains so many grammar, spelling and punctuation errors, the paragraph becomes unreadable.	Satisfactory Paragraph contains several grammar, spelling or punctuation errors.	Good Paragraph contains very few, if any, grammatical, spelling, or punctuational errors.
Contents of Assignment	Unsatisfactory Assignment is missing two of the following: graphic organizer, rough draft, typed copy of paragraph.	Satisfactory Assignment is missing one of the following: graphic organizer, rough draft or typed copy of paragraph.	Good Assignment contains all components: graphic organizer, rough draft and typed copy of paragraph.
