Independent Reading
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Stays on Task	Poor Student reads some of the time (less than 50%).	Fair Student reads most of the time (75%)	Good Student reads all the time (100%).
Writes in Log	Poor Student does not write in log at all.	Fair Student writes some in his/her log.	Good Student completes his/her log.
Chooses appropriate book	Poor Student chooses a book well below reading level that he/she has read before.	Fair Student chooses a book which he/she has never read before and which is slightly below his/her reading level.	Good Student chooses a book which he/she has not read before, which is at or slightly above their reading level.
