Online Poster and Presentation Rubric 
The students will create an online digital poster, using the website Canva, and present it to the class. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the geographical characteristics of an allocated North or South American state.

The poster includes all information relevant to the topic. Research on the topic is strongly evident and the student demonstrates deep understanding of the content.

Poor

Poster was done with little effort and the quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete. Poor use of grammar and no images presented.
Fair

Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and several grammatical errors are noted. Few images were used.
Good

The work was done with good effort. It is evident that time was put towards the layout and images are present. Few grammatical errors are noted and the presentation of ideas is good.
Excellent

The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of his/her work. Strong use of grammar is evident and many creative images are included. A strong presentation of ideas.
Map

Detail, layout, appropriate application of map features (including key, compass rose and scale), evidence of geographical research.

Poor

Little or no evidence of research. Map details are missing and the layout is poor.
Fair

Some evidence of research is presented. Some of the map features are missing but the layout is good.
Good

Decent evidence of research is noted. All of the map features are presented and the layout is good. Lots of detail was put in.
Excellent

Strong evidence of research. Detail put in exceeds expectations and all of the map features were correctly used.
Presentation

Appropriate dialogue, organisation, eye contact and stance.

Poor

Lack of organisation and poor dialogue apparent. No eye contact and stance unprofessional.
Fair

Some organisation evident. Dialogue inconsistent at times. Some eye contact and acceptable posture.
Good

Good organisation of material and choice of dialogue. Good eye contact and professional stance.
Excellent

Excellent presentation with strong dialogue and evidence of organisation. Excellent eye contact and stance is very professional. Extensive knowledge of material was evident throughout.

Organisation and engagement with the activities.

Poor

Student was consistently unorganised and unprepared for the activities. Remained unfocused throughout the task. Did not engage or work well with others.
Fair

Student was sometimes organised and generally remained focused on the task. Student sometimes fell of track. Engagement and collaboration was evident at times.
Good

Student was organised most of the time and remained focused on the task. Student consistently engaged with the activities and collaborated with others.
Excellent

Student was always organised and focused on the tasks provided. Student always engaged with the activities and collaborated with their peers, often taking leadership roles.
