Inspired by one of the greatest Mexican Muralists, Diego Rivera, students will create their own personalized mural. _NYS standard: Students will be able to recognize cultural patterns and traditions of the target culture.

Excellent

Student's mural is full of symbolism that represents his/her ideas or message that he/she wants to transmit to the audience. Student shows complete understanding of the mural technique.
Good

Student's mural has few words and has a minimum of 5 symbols that represent his/her ideas or message that he/she wants to transmit to the audience. Student shows some understanding of the mural technique.
Poor

Student's mural has a lot of words and only 3 or less symbols that represents his/her ideas or message that he/she wants to transmit to the audience. Student doesn't show an understanding of the mural technique.
Creativity

Excellent

Student's mural is very creative,artistic, inspired, and original.
Good

Student's mural is somewhat creative, but mostly average.
Poor

Student didn't put any effort into his/her mural at all.
Color

Excellent

Student uses more than 5 colors. Student work and background is very colorful.
Good

Student work uses some color and the background is left completely white.
Poor

Student only uses one color or none at all.
