Needs improvement Attempts to address the topic but with little or no success in establishing a focus. Very little content is accurate.
Organization	Exceeds expectations Establishes a clear and logical organization with fully developed paragraphs. Essay has intro, full body and conclusion	Good Paper is organized with an introduction, body and conclusion.	Fair Shows some evidence of an organizational plan.	Needs improvement Fails to organize ideas.
Development & Details	Exceeds expectations Achieves coherent development with specific and relevant details and examples. Effective transitions are present to bridge between paragraphs.	Good Has focused but occasionally uneven development; incorporates some specific detail. Transitions are used to bridge paragraphs.
